"BRAVE HEART" ( A FILM REVIEW)

BRAVE HEART

I. SUMMARY

William Wallace is a Scottish rebel who leads an uprising against the cruel English ruler, Edward the Longshanks who wishes to inherit the crown of Scotland for himself. When he was a young boy, William's father and brother, along with many others, lost their lives trying to free Scotland. When he was old enough, he married a woman secretly because once it was known, his wife will be taken to the king forever. But then fate was cruel. Their marriage was discovered by a brutal knight and her wife was killed because she didn't paid respect to the knight. That caused William's anger to unravel and his desire to have vengeance against the Scottish people. The people of his tribe decided to join his plan to break out a war against the Scottish people. They had won numerous fights but then when they asked help from Robert the Bruce and his people to join them in their last an very important fight against the Scottish people, they were betrayed and that caused their defeat and loss of thousands of lives. Robert the Bruce was deeply bothered by his conscience on why he did such thing: and that is the betrayal he and his people had done. He decided to meet Wallace once again to make it up to him but then, Robert's people had a plan: and that is to catch Wallace and bring him to the king of Scotland in order for him to be punished. And that was what happened. Wallace was caught and was beheaded. When he died, his people continued the revolution against the Scottish under the leadership of Robert the Bruce. They won in the last fight . They defeated the Scottish king and thus ended the story.

IV. SIGNIFICANCE OF BRAVE HEART TO THE PRESENT SOCIETY

Brave heart is an eye-opener to the cruelties and brutality the present society is doing right now. It also serves as an inspiration to the people nowadays that we should not let other people hurt us or maltreat us. It also serves as an awareness and warning for people who are maltreating others.

V. HISTORICAL REVIEW OF BRAVE HEART

Brave heart was signifying an depicting the historical part of Scotland where the Scottish people were fighting for their freedom. The Brave heart was considered one of the greatest films ever because it showed every detail about the Scottish people's struggle for freedom.
